A Senior Associate at Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP, Tricia W. Macaluso has been LIVING UNITED since 2003. Tricia attended a meeting of law firm representatives at United Way’s headquarters that was designed to encourage law firm involvement in the United Way campaign. She left the meeting inspired by the value added to the giving process by United Way and the difference the dollars made in the community. Tricia went back to her law firm and started a workplace campaign. After five years she is proud of its steady growth.
Not only does Tricia give to United Way, but she also volunteers throughout the organization. In 2004 Tricia became a volunteer for the Priority Needs Grants process. Through her experience as a panel volunteer, her knowledge grew of what United Way does in our community. Grant panel volunteers visit the partner agency locations, review grant applications and determine through a rigorous process how the agencies will be funded. Since then she has served as a panel member, panel chair and currently serves as a Vice Chair of the Central Allocations Committee.
“United Way has benefitted me because it has allowed me to not only see first hand the most pressing needs of our community but has also given me the opportunity to address those needs and make a difference,” Tricia said.
Tricia graduated with a bachelors degree in psychology from TexasA&MUniversity and went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law. She and her husband Ray have a five year old Boston Terrier named Izzy. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, cooking, reading and golfing with her husband. In addition to her work with United Way, Tricia also serves on the Leadership Council of the Junior League of Dallas as the Chair of the Education Committee.
United Way of Metropolitan Dallas would like to thank Tricia Macaluso for LIVING UNITED through giving, advocating and volunteering in our community and our organization.
