Nancy Perry

Nancy Perry is the Vice President of Business Markets for TXU Energy and has LIVED UNITED since 2006. Volunteering with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD) has helped her to gain a deeper understanding of how people in our community are impacted every day by United Way.

As a firm believer in giving back to the community on a regular basis, Nancy decided to make a bigger commitment and volunteer for the TXU United Way Tocqueville Campaign, a campaign that encourages individuals to give $10,000 or more per year. As part of her commitment, Nancy wanted to allow the management of TXU to experience, first hand how United Way impacts the community.

Through this idea, the Texas-Louisiana Camp (TLC) Rally was born. The rally served as a day for children who attended TLC to come together for a day of fun, games and activities as well as an opportunity to invite the TXU management team to volunteer and interact with the children their dollars had gone to support. The volunteer experience was heartwarming for everyone involved and the TLC Rally continues now, two years later.

Along with being the Tocqueville Chair in 2007 for TXU Corporation, she also served as Chair of the TLC committee for 2008. When asked about a memorable experience volunteering with United Way, Nancy talked about her experience as a volunteer at the 2007 TLC Rally. “Our day with the TLC kids was filled with laughter, getting hot, trying to keep bees from invading the snow cone and cotton candy machines, protecting kids from fire ant mounds, keeping sticky snow cones off of the bounce houses and everyone leaving with memories they still talk about a year later.  What a rewarding and wonderful day!”

A true testament to what it means to LIVE UNITED. Thank you, Nancy for giving, advocating and volunteering in our community.
