Barbara and Stan Rabin

For nearly four decades, Barbara and Stan Rabin have been generous contributors and volunteers of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD).

The Rabins match their dedicated volunteer hearts with outstanding charitable giving. The couple recently pledged $500,000 to the United Way Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas. This phenomenal contribution will endow their annual Tocqueville gift (a donation of $10,000 or more) in perpetuity.

“Volunteerism and philanthropy have been integral parts of our lives,” Stan Rabin said. “We believe it is crucial to create a permanency to our gift, to assure continued support for United Way and its beneficiaries.  This resulted in our decision to endow our gift.”

A savvy business leader with Commercial Metals, Stan Rabin has lent his talents to UWMD since the 1970s. A former member of the Board of Directors, he is currently chair-elect of the United Way Foundation of Metropolitan Dallas, effective July 1, 2009.

Barbara Rabin served as a United Way campaign volunteer in her 20s and has continued her work as a volunteer through the years, lending her time and talents to numerous nonprofit organizations throughout the Dallas area.

Barbara and Stan Rabin, alumni of the University of California at Berkley and Columbia University respectively, enjoy spending time with their two children and five grandchildren. The couple celebrated 44 years of marriage this year.

United Way of Metropolitan Dallas would like to thank Barbara and Stan Rabin for their continued support and leadership.
