Barry Fromberg

My name is Barry Fromberg and I am a long-time supporter of United Way. Recently, I took my support one step further and became an ADVOCATE because I want to improve the quality of life for all in this community. As an advocate, I had the opportunity to spread the message of United Way’s Legislative Agenda for a cause I am passionate about - children’s healthcare. United Way’s staff helped me reach out to State Representative Jim Jackson and prepare for my meeting to discuss improvements that need to be made to our Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP). I was fully primed with talking points and responses to potential questions that Rep. Jackson might ask about our position on CHIP. I found Rep. Jackson to be very knowledgeable about children’s health issues and interested in hearing the United Way’s position. My experience as an advocate made me feel like I was actually having an impact in my community. I will continue to follow the CHIP legislation throughout the session and I am hopeful for a successful outcome. United Way is making great strides through advocacy in the areas of education, income and health and I look forward to being a part of it for years to come.

Barry Fromberg joined the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Board in 2006 and has expanded his involvement to include serving on the Executive Committee; Finance Committee; Strategic Planning Committee; and as the Chairman of the Audit and Ethics Committee.
