Sarah Stoneman, Vice President at Citi, is a wonderful example of United Way’s call to action to LIVE UNITED by giving, advocating and volunteering in our community! Sarah became involved with United Way her second year out of college at her first job. The workplace campaign made it a simple way to give back to the community, a concept instilled in her by her parents at a young age.
After being exposed to the Priority Needs Grant Allocation process, the process by which funds are distributed to agencies and programs, she became a volunteer for a panel and was recruited to do Stewardship. The Stewardship process ensures that UWMD invests in partner agencies that are well-managed and fiscally responsible by reviewing the capacity of the agencies to efficiently translate resources into effective services.
Her volunteer involvement with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD) has grown over the years. Sarah is the current Co-Chair for the UWMD Young Leaders Society and Chair of the Priority Needs Grants. She is Past Chair of Stewardship as well as a Citi campaign volunteer.
“[My involvement with United Way] has opened me up to many leadership experiences and given me opportunities to interact with people in leadership positions that I would have never met before,” Sarah said.
Her volunteerism within UWMD has given her a greater understanding of how United Way functions and what the organization is all about. This knowledge and passion for making the region a better place to live makes Sarah an incredible advocate for United Way and the 91 partner agency affiliates.
Sarah is a graduate of The Colony High School here in Dallas and received both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from TexasTechUniversity. A financial analyst for Citi Mortgage and Citi Financial Auto Operations, her schedule stays full. In her spare time she enjoys traveling as much as possible, scrapbooking, reading and spending time with her husband and puppy.
United Way of Metropolitan Dallas would like to thank Sarah for LIVING UNITED in our community through giving, advocating and volunteering in our community.
