Methodist Health System of Dallas (MHSD) is an excellent example of a company that LIVES UNITED in our community. Since 1998, MHSD has held a United Way campaign, and their employees volunteer in record numbers each year. In 2008, more than 60 employees worked directly with the United Way campaign, advocating to their peers about the importance of giving back to the community with your resources.
The first call to action of LIVE UNITED is Give. For this company, giving is an important part of their culture and the results from the 2008 campaign show that actions speak louder than words. 2008 was their most successful campaign to date. Even though we are in a struggling economy, MHSD employees increased their gift to United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD) by 25%!
The incredible team of volunteers who helped MHSD reach this goal demonstrates the second call to action of LIVE UNITED which is Advocate. These 60 employees who volunteered to promote the importance of giving to their peers went above and beyond to generate excitement for the 2008 campaign.
The final call to action of LIVE UNITED is Volunteer and the employees of MSHD go above and beyond to touch lives in our community. MHSD serves people from all walks of life, including many who are under insured or not insured, and employees see the needs of patients everyday. Therefore, hundreds of employees support the community outreach programs and events sponsored by Methodist Health System and management staff logs a minimum of 20 hours of community service each year as a part of their annual evaluations!
As you can see, Methodist Health System of Dallas is a generous community partner for UWMD and our community. Thank you for LIVING UNITED right here in the Dallas Metroplex.
