Medical Center of Plano

Medical Center of Plano (MCP) has LIVE UNITED by giving, advocating and volunteering in the Metroplex for 25 years! Their workplace campaign has continued to grow and employee participation increased this year from 27% to 40% of their 1400 employees in the face of a struggling economy. But this incredible company doesn’t just give back monetarily; they have a culture of volunteering and advocating through their community involvement.

For the last 25 years, MCP has held United Way campaigns and encouraged their employees to give back to their community. They keep their campaign motivating by sending their campaign team on agency tours. These team members come back with exciting experiences to share with other members of their departments. Popular fundraisers include Carnation Day and the Gift Basket Raffle with sales that raised more than $6,500 combined!

But the Leadership Giving is what makes their campaign unique. At the conclusion of their Leadership Giving luncheon, they had 60 Leadership Givers, individuals who donate $1,000 or more annually to United Way, an excellent start to their campaign! With this year’s theme of “Take the Next Step…LIVE UNITED,” they encouraged staff to take the next step in giving, whether it was increasing their gift or giving for the first time.

MCP also gives their employees an opportunity to volunteer by sponsoring a year round meal for the residents of CITY House, a United Way of Metropolitan Dallas partner agency. This event keeps the staff connected to United Way through local agencies. Campaign team members also advocate by talking to their co-workers about their experiences of being helped by United Way agencies and the difference that every donation makes.

United Way of Metropolitan Dallas would like to thank Medical Center of Plano for LIVING UNITED in our community through giving, advocating and volunteering for a better tomorrow.
