The company runs a Pacesetter campaign- an organization that runs an early United Way campaign and "sets the pace" for other businesses to follow. McLane Foodservice, Inc. is also consistently ranked as a Top 120 Campaign in Dallas. In 2007, McLane Foodservice, Inc. had more than 50% participation from employees and more than 21 Leadership Givers - individuals who give $1,000 or more a year. The company takes great pride in helping us set the pace for the entire campaign.

Their workplace campaign is led by a committed team that has become increasingly involved with United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD). The employees at McLane Foodservice, Inc. not only participate and run an employee campaign to benefit UWMD; they take their involvement one step further by continuing their philanthropic endeavors year round. One of McLane Foodservice, Inc.’s employees even volunteers with the Priority Needs Grant Allocation Process at United Way, a process in which volunteers from around the community come together to determine where to allocate United Way dollars.

In the spring of 2008, McLane Foodservice, Inc. participated in a Day of Caring with the United Services Organizations of Dallas/Fort Worth. They teamed up with DFW airport to cheer on returning soldiers and give them a proper Texas welcome! McLane Foodservice, Inc. also promotes mentoring youth and children through volunteering at Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas, as well as volunteering at Boy Scouts of America, The Warren Center and the Dallas Lighthouse for the Blind.
