PFSweb

PFSweb (Priority Fulfillment Services) headquartered in Plano, just concluded their first United Way campaign and they are thrilled with the results! Deciding to run a campaign was a well thought out process. PFSweb wanted to be able to provide a service to their employees, be efficient in running the campaign, and make sure the message was effective. PFSweb decided to run a "Pacesetter" campaign, early in the summer before the traditional campaign began in September, to help "set the pace" for the United Way (UW) drive in the community.

PFSweb timed their UW kickoff with their summer quarterly all-staff meeting to get the message out to the majority of their employees. The presentation included an endorsement from their President, Mike Willoughby, a presentation from the campaign coordinators, Lawrence Lubrano and Aubrey Johnson, as well as a United Way presentation with an agency speaker. Their incentive was free LIVE UNITED t-shirts. Campaign team members modeled the shirts and informed employees that anyone who contributed to UW, in the first week, would receive a t-shirt. In order to reach the rest of the employee population, they had back-to-back 30 minute presentations the following week to reach those who couldn't attend the quarterly meeting. Employees were excited to learn about all of the resources in the community and how they could become involved.

PFSweb embraced the LIVE UNITED message of give, advocate, volunteer, and hit all of their goals. They gave by exceeding their goal of $25K and raising more than $50K. They advocated by getting fired up and spreading the word within their departments. One employee was so excited she donated some handmade quilts she had made to a few UW partner agencies. They volunteered by signing up more than 50 employees to work on quarterly volunteer projects throughout the community. PFSweb is a great example of how running a United Way campaign helps provide a service to employees and can be done efficiently and with great results.

United Way of Metropolitan Dallas thanks PFSweb for Living United through giving, advocating and volunteering in our community.
