Atmos Energy

Atmos Energy is a Fortune 500 company that sets the bar when it comes to LIVING UNITED in our communities.

At the heart of the Atmos Energy campaign is the support of its senior leadership. These individuals, including Chief Executive Officer Bob Best, John Paris and Chris Forsythe, encourage employees to dedicate as much time as possible to giving back to the community they serve.

To make the Atmos Energy campaign a success, employees conduct auctions, bake sales, and the ever-popular “throw your boss in jail day” to motivate employees to give in a unique way. These tactics have won Atmos Energy numerous accolades from United Way of Metropolitan Dallas (UWMD) including the 2007 and 2008 Pacesetter Best Practices Awards and the 2008 Outstanding Use of Best Practices.

Its nearly $700,000 campaign also shows the commitment of the company to giving back. With 74 Leadership Givers (individuals who give $1,000 or more annually) and four Tocqueville Donors (individuals who give $10,000 or more annually) Atmos Energy ranks number 18 on the UWMD list of top 120 companies.

Atmos Energy employees’ desire to help others is second to none. They get involved in the community by participating in UWMD Days of Caring, serving lunch at a local shelter and hosting food drives and providing meals for other non-profit organizations.

Many of Atmos Energy’s 3 million customers benefit in some way from United Way community partners. Atmos Energy believes in supporting its customers through avenues provided by the various United Way agencies.

For the caring spirit and dedication to improving lives in our community, United Way of Metropolitan Dallas would like to thank Atmos Energy for LIVING UNITED.
